Honor and Remember

Jean Bebensee 2009
"The Wizard of Chin"

Jean

Jean is remembered as a beacon of light throughout the world of Japanese Chin rescue. She was one of the founding members of the national rescue organization, Japanese Chin Care And Rescue Effort (JCCARE). Not many have done so much to benefit the welfare of these rescue dogs. Her wisdom and compassion also shaped the concepts and creation of this Colorado rescue group, Japanese Chin Rescue: Rocky Mountain Region.

My personal promise to her was to continue Japanese Chin rescue in this region. Holly Wolfe

Dale and Dude - 2009

In 2002, Dude was 2 years old and rescued from a puppy mill.  He was aggressive and unsocial.  Dale adopted Dude and stated "I just want to give the little guy a chance".  For the next seven years Dale and Dude become life companions and were inseparable.  Dale passed away in the Spring of 2009, at which time Dude came back into Rescue and passed away 6 weeks later.  Dude became a wonderful and sweet companion and touched so many lives because of Dale's commitment to him.  We know that they are together again and this time with no health obstacles to hinder their loyalty for each other.  Because of Dale, Dude was able to have a wonderful and happy life and was able to love and trust Dale as well as the many people who were part of his life.  We miss them both terribly, but will remember them forever.

Gizmo - February 24, 2010

Gizmo was brought to rescue after some life changing events in his family and his owner simply wanted for him to have a loving home where he would not be left alone for extended periods of time. He was a wonderful little dog who loved to talk to you and would do a little spin dance when he was really excited. Gizmo was quite the little character who loved to snuggle up in the pillows at bedtime and would lay on his back and snore all night long. He loved other dogs and would lick them all over the face the minute he met them. Gizmo's life came to an end while in foster care and left a gaping hole in his foster families life. Although Gizmo was only with us for a short time he has left his little paw prints in our hearts forever. We will love and miss our little Gizzee.

Silky - Jan 4, 2001 - Feb 17, 2010

Silky was a tiny 7 pound, 9 year old female who came into rescue from a local shelter and was able to spend her last 5 day's of life in a home with a family who loved and cared for her. Sometimes it is not the quantity of life we have but the quality of being with someone who loves you and cares for you. We miss little Silky, but know that she is no longer suffering and are grateful to have had such a wonderful little angel bless our lives even if only for a short time. Silky touched us and will never be forgotten.
